Mountains and movement
Guided walks and intro scrambling in North Wales.
From gentle local walks to bigger mountain days and carefully chosen intro scrambling for suitable groups.
Guided walks
A guided walk can be gentle, moderate or challenging. The route is chosen around your group, weather, transport and what you want from the day.
- Low-level walks around Conwy, coast or valleys
- Classic Eryri mountain days
- Geology, culture, local history and landscape interpretation
- Navigation and mountain confidence along the way
- Safer alternatives when conditions are poor
Good for
- Couples
- Families with older children
- Small groups of friends
- Visitors who want local knowledge
- Adults wanting a confidence-building mountain day
Intro to scrambling
Scrambling is a step up from hillwalking and involves moving on steeper or rockier terrain. It can be brilliant, but it needs careful route choice, weather judgement and honest screening.
- For suitable adults or older teenagers
- Focus on movement, judgement and confidence
- Route chosen around ability and conditions
- Not treated as an adrenaline product or guaranteed objective
Suitability matters
If scrambling is not appropriate for the group or weather, I’ll suggest a guided mountain walk, rocky skills session or lower-level alternative instead.
Walks and scrambling FAQs
Can I request a specific route?
Yes, but the final plan depends on weather, conditions, group ability and safety considerations.
Is scrambling suitable for beginners?
Possibly, but only with the right route, conditions and group. The enquiry form helps screen this properly.
Do you guide Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon?
This can be discussed, but Cynefin Quest is not built around summit-bagging only. Often the best day is a quieter, more suitable route elsewhere.
Ready to plan?
Send a quick enquiry and I’ll suggest a suitable day.
Tell me your dates, group size, experience level and whether you have transport. I’ll suggest a plan that fits the weather, ability and the kind of adventure you want.
